I feel like life lately has been quite hectic and as a result my blog has taken a backseat which really upsets me, so obviously I'm going to write about it on da blog. So as I'm writing this post, I'm currently sat in my hotel room in Newport Beach, California and I'm so excited to go out and explore but I'm also so tired from our drive from Las Vegas. Also just be warned, this post is quite photo heavy and includes a lot of photos from this period.
So anyway, after finishing my second year university exams (where I did get a first in 6/8 of my modules) I took my driving test the week after - and when you're trying to cram your lessons in after taking a break, it's quite stressful. So then after that was done (I did pass by the way.. Even though when the examiner got in the car I couldn't start the goddam car omg so embarrassing) I started my internship in London the week after. This is all well and good but when you're trying to keep your retail job on a Saturday (where I also worked sale prep and sale days) it's very difficult to find time to do a 6 day week, watch Love Island (Kem and Chris defo should have won), work out, have a social life, eat properly and blog. So as a result my little space on the internet has been severely neglected.
I think I'd be more motivated to blog if Instagram wasn't so frustrating at the moment. Do you ever feel like you're trying to win a losing battle? Cause that couldn't be more relevant right now. I've gained more followers and yet my likes have gone down? And then out of no where I lose over 100 followers in one week? Like what?!?!?! Very demotivating especially as Instagram is my primary source of traffic for my blog, can't let the algorithm win though! So if you're not following me you can find me over at @amelia.lottie where I'll be mainly posting pink makeup photos and the occasional selfie (this will probably change though as I'm currently on holibobs in the U.S.A.) - so a little change up is long overdue.
My internship was fab though. I do feel like I've learnt a lot and the whole experience has allowed me to grow as a person and focus on my goals (does that sound a bit cringe? Oh well). It was located near St Pauls Cathedral which is conveniently located next to One New Change which has been very bad for my bank balance hahaha. My uni friends are also mainly located in London so I got to see them and go for some amazing meals out too - big up Dirty Bones and The Diner. Although these certainly didn't help my summer body goals but what can you do when food is bae/life.
Anyway, I have a load of new blog posts lined up and I'm excited to give my little space on the internet some well needed attention.
Til next time
