Life Lately

I feel like life lately has been quite hectic and as a result my blog has taken a backseat which really upsets me, so obviously I'm going to write about it on da blog. So as I'm writing this post, I'm currently sat in my hotel room in Newport Beach, California and I'm so excited to go out and explore but I'm also so tired from our drive from Las Vegas. Also just be warned, this post is quite photo heavy and includes a lot of photos from this period.

So anyway, after finishing my second year university exams (where I did get a first in 6/8 of my modules) I took my driving test the week after - and when you're trying to cram your lessons in after taking a break, it's quite stressful. So then after that was done (I did pass by the way.. Even though when the examiner got in the car I couldn't start the goddam car omg so embarrassing) I started my internship in London the week after. This is all well and good but when you're trying to keep your retail job on a Saturday (where I also worked sale prep and sale days) it's very difficult to find time to do a 6 day week, watch Love Island (Kem and Chris defo should have won), work out, have a social life, eat properly and blog. So as a result my little space on the internet has been severely neglected.

I think I'd be more motivated to blog if Instagram wasn't so frustrating at the moment. Do you ever feel like you're trying to win a losing battle? Cause that couldn't be more relevant right now. I've gained more followers and yet my likes have gone down? And then out of no where I lose over 100 followers in one week? Like what?!?!?! Very demotivating especially as Instagram is my primary source of traffic for my blog, can't let the algorithm win though! So if you're not following me you can find me over at @amelia.lottie where I'll be mainly posting pink makeup photos and the occasional selfie (this will probably change though as I'm currently on holibobs in the U.S.A.) - so a little change up is long overdue.

My internship was fab though. I do feel like I've learnt a lot and the whole experience has allowed me to grow as a person and focus on my goals (does that sound a bit cringe? Oh well). It was located near St Pauls Cathedral which is conveniently located next to One New Change which has been very bad for my bank balance hahaha. My uni friends are also mainly located in London so I got to see them and go for some amazing meals out too - big up Dirty Bones and The Diner. Although these certainly didn't help my summer body goals but what can you do when food is bae/life.

Anyway, I have a load of new blog posts lined up and I'm excited to give my little space on the internet some well needed attention.

The June 2017 Cohorted Beauty Box Edit

I've always loved beauty box subscriptions but it got to a point where I stopped because I was receiving products that weren't really for me or of use so they'd end up stored away unused. Having said that, when Cohorted contacted me to review their June box I immediately said yes; The Cohorted beauty box contains a secret selection of luxury hand-picked beauty goodies, which is right up my alley as I'm always buying high-end products, and it all comes packaged in a sleek black box. Obviously, with all beauty sub boxes, you have no idea what you're getting until it arrives at your door! So here's what June's box had in store:

Bellapierre | Glowing palette

Bella Pierre is a brand that I've used before but that was a very long time ago. The company manufacture and produce all mineral makeup, which is completely cruelty free. I absolutely love highlighters (which you will know if you read my blog and follow me on Insta) and this palette immediately caught my attention; the packaging is sleek and beautiful. This palette includes 6 gorgeous shades which are lovely and shimmery so I've been using them on my eyes too. There are some shades that I probably wouldn't use as a highlighter because they're too dark for my skin tone so there's something in there for everyone! I would definitely say this product is the star of the show and retails for £40.00.

Bellapierre | Kiss Proof Lip Crème

Another product in this months box was from Bella Pierre and it's this beautiful dark pinky nude liquid lipstick in the shade Antique Pink and couldn't be more of a me shade - I live for pinky nudes! I've been wearing this to my internship and I've found it lasts all the way through my commute and endless cups of tea so I'm super impressed! As it's a lip creme, the formula is similar to the NYX soft matte lip creme formulas, so it's less drying than your typical liquid lipstick formula. Absolutely love this and it retails for £20.00.

Too Faced | Better Than Sex Mascara

Oh Too Faced, the absolute queens of packaging! I’ve wanted to try this mascara for the longest time ever but never purchased as I’ve always heard mixed reviews and it’s nice to now own a sample version so I can form my own opinions of it! Having tried it out I do really like it, the wand is like a hourglass and it makes your lashes quite fluttery and spidery but also nice and thick. Overall I’m really impressed and I’m definitely going to get some good use out of this.

Kure Bazaar | Nail Polish

I’m not really a fan of brightly coloured nails but, having said that, I love a brightly coloured toe nail shade for the summer when your tootsies are out and you’re feeling mega cute with a tan, this shade in Glam by Kure Bazaar is absolutely perfect and hasn't chipped and worn off.  I've been wearing it on my toe nails but I think on my actual nails it would look really nice on an exotic location with a cocktail in my hand but yes, love it on my toe nails for now!

All in all, I've loved the June Cohorted beauty box! I know that I'll get full use out of all the products which I think is really important when investing in a beauty box subscription. These retail at £35 with the products reaching much higher and it's so exciting receiving a box filled with surprise goodies each month!
