The June 2017 Cohorted Beauty Box Edit

I've always loved beauty box subscriptions but it got to a point where I stopped because I was receiving products that weren't really for me or of use so they'd end up stored away unused. Having said that, when Cohorted contacted me to review their June box I immediately said yes; The Cohorted beauty box contains a secret selection of luxury hand-picked beauty goodies, which is right up my alley as I'm always buying high-end products, and it all comes packaged in a sleek black box. Obviously, with all beauty sub boxes, you have no idea what you're getting until it arrives at your door! So here's what June's box had in store:

Bellapierre | Glowing palette

Bella Pierre is a brand that I've used before but that was a very long time ago. The company manufacture and produce all mineral makeup, which is completely cruelty free. I absolutely love highlighters (which you will know if you read my blog and follow me on Insta) and this palette immediately caught my attention; the packaging is sleek and beautiful. This palette includes 6 gorgeous shades which are lovely and shimmery so I've been using them on my eyes too. There are some shades that I probably wouldn't use as a highlighter because they're too dark for my skin tone so there's something in there for everyone! I would definitely say this product is the star of the show and retails for £40.00.

Bellapierre | Kiss Proof Lip Crème

Another product in this months box was from Bella Pierre and it's this beautiful dark pinky nude liquid lipstick in the shade Antique Pink and couldn't be more of a me shade - I live for pinky nudes! I've been wearing this to my internship and I've found it lasts all the way through my commute and endless cups of tea so I'm super impressed! As it's a lip creme, the formula is similar to the NYX soft matte lip creme formulas, so it's less drying than your typical liquid lipstick formula. Absolutely love this and it retails for £20.00.

Too Faced | Better Than Sex Mascara

Oh Too Faced, the absolute queens of packaging! I’ve wanted to try this mascara for the longest time ever but never purchased as I’ve always heard mixed reviews and it’s nice to now own a sample version so I can form my own opinions of it! Having tried it out I do really like it, the wand is like a hourglass and it makes your lashes quite fluttery and spidery but also nice and thick. Overall I’m really impressed and I’m definitely going to get some good use out of this.

Kure Bazaar | Nail Polish

I’m not really a fan of brightly coloured nails but, having said that, I love a brightly coloured toe nail shade for the summer when your tootsies are out and you’re feeling mega cute with a tan, this shade in Glam by Kure Bazaar is absolutely perfect and hasn't chipped and worn off.  I've been wearing it on my toe nails but I think on my actual nails it would look really nice on an exotic location with a cocktail in my hand but yes, love it on my toe nails for now!

All in all, I've loved the June Cohorted beauty box! I know that I'll get full use out of all the products which I think is really important when investing in a beauty box subscription. These retail at £35 with the products reaching much higher and it's so exciting receiving a box filled with surprise goodies each month!

Recent Beauty Buys | Mac, Too Faced, By Terry

Do you ever just buy so much makeup that you kinda hate and love yourself at the same time? That's how I feel most of the time anyway. I have to pep talk myself like 'c'mon you don't need to spend any money this month on makeup', and then surprise surprise, BAM spent £10000 on makeup.. oops.

Anyway, that very thing happened to me last month and I thought I'd share with everyone what I (shouldn't have) bought.

By Terry Ombre Blackstar | Frozen Quartz - £29
I actually used my Space NK incentive and used £5 off so I spent £24 on this bad boy. I was going to go for Misty Rock which seems to be everyone's favourite but I thought this would be nicer for the (hopefully) summery months to come as it's lighter and sO pretty. Little bit pricey but hopefully the hype around this product lives up to expectations!

Too Faced | Born This Way Foundation - £29
I've already been through a bottle of this foundation and I absolutely love it. Even though my skin is oily, this foundation is the bomb. It's lightweight, provides good coverage and with the right setting powder and primer, can stay on your skin for quite a while.

Mac Cosmetics Paint Pot | Painterly - £16
Honestly, I don't know what I would do without this product. It's my saving grace when it comes to eyeshadow primers. I could walk through a storm and my eyeshadow would look amazing. Honestly the best investment, I've already gone through one of these.

Mac Cosmetics Lipstick | Long Legged & Fabulous and Sunny Seoul - £15.50
As if I needed two more lipsticks. This was justified by Long Legged & Fabulous being a limited edition shade and Sunny Seoul is such a summery colour (even though it is basically winter right now - please England sort yourself out). Yano I needed them both obviously.

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette | Review

Ever since buying the original Chocolate Bar palette from Too Faced, I knew I needed to buy this one. Luckily for me it had just come into Sephora stores in France a couple of days before I visited. Obviously I snapped this up!

As you can see the colours are absolutely beautiful and very chocolately in colour chart and smell *drools*. I really like how there are many matte shades and some beautiful shimmery ones too! I was also really excited about the blue shade - Blueberry Swirl - they've put in. I'm not going to go into much detail about the packaging as Too Faced have the cutest packaging which are always faultless and adorable.

Unlike the original Chocolate Bar Palette, the names of the shades are in the palette this time which is super helpful.  They've kept the same layout with the two bigger neutral shades - One matte and one shimmery. I like to use Coconut Creme as an eye shadow base and I love using Butter Pecan as a highlighter.

My favourite shade in this palette is Pink Sugar. It appears pink in the pan but when applied it's more like a glitter on the eye without being too pinky - love! I also love using Nougat as a pinky transition shade.

As you can see from the swatches this palette is extra gorj and I would 100% recommend to anyone! As per usual the shades are pigmented and blend like a dream. The only shade that I've found isn't as pigmented is Blueberry Swirl. It's very sheer and not as blue as it looks in the pan.
I've see a couple of people say they prefer the original but I have to admit, Too Faced have risen to the occasion and I love them both equally. I think it depends on what the weather is like or what kinda mood I'm in for me to choose between the two. On the whole I'd say that this palette has a lovely choice of cool and warm shades which is perfect for people who want a bit of variety.

This palette retails at £45 but it's £39 when you buy it from Debenhams! Plus you can receive points!
